Research Rangers
Research Rangers is included in your subscription. Our team answers questions on specific topics using the research and captures we already hold.
Questions needing new research, or an extended piece of work, are custom work instead. Email brett.nowak@liquidandgrit.com to discuss one.
Submitting a Request
Section titled “Submitting a Request”Fill out the request form. After that we:
- Follow up to confirm the scope and ask any questions.
- Do the research, usually in a Google Doc or spreadsheet.
- Send it back through whichever channel you prefer, such as a shared Slack channel, email, or a Slack message.
We usually respond within one week.
What Makes a Good Request
Section titled “What Makes a Good Request”- Name the apps, market, date range, and the kind of output you want.
- Say who you are and what you are working on, and name any teammates who should see the answer so we can tag them.
- Include examples of what you are looking for, such as screenshots from an app that does it.
- Try Market Pulse first. If you get stuck using it for a specific question, ask us and we will help.
Examples
Section titled “Examples”I’m looking for examples of a given feature in a given subgenre. I’ve attached screenshots from two apps as examples of what I mean. Can you find comparable examples in other apps?
We want to extend our season pass and are looking at the final reward when players reach the highest rank. Can we get video of that prize chest, and does it keep paying out or is it one time only?
What Research Rangers Does Not Cover
Section titled “What Research Rangers Does Not Cover”Research Rangers curates evidence we already hold. Questions about what your team should do next, or that need research we have not done, are custom work. We will say so and offer to scope it.
